B/CS Habitat for Humanity’s “Think Brazos” podcast has recorded and filmed conversations with each of the five candidates for College Station City Council. As far as we know, no one has done this to date and we are excited to share these interviews with you! If you live in College Station and you’re not sure who to pick for the Place 4 and Place 6 races or just want a deeper dive into what your candidate believes, this is for you! If you didn’t know there’s an election this November, these videos are for you too! Agree or disagree with the candidates’ positions, we hope by watching these interviews you will come to put a face and personality with the names you’ll see listed on the ballot in November.

In these interviews, we don’t just talk about housing! You’ll also hear what the candidates have to say on a variety of topics such as parking, transportation, public safety, taxes and spending, minimum wage, and a charter amendment that would move the date of local elections. And you don’t want to miss the ReStore ad in the videos (let’s just say there’s a coyote).

We’d like to thank Council Members Dennis Maloney and Elizabeth Cunha, as well as candidates William Wright, Marie-Anne Mousseau-Holland and David Levine for their willingness to drive all the way to north Bryan to record our conversations. We think it shows their dedication not only to the job they hope to get on Council, but to voter engagement as well. City council elections are sometimes decided with less than 10% of the electorate and we don’t think that’s right! Do your part to change this and get out the vote this fall by sharing these interviews and don’t forget to “Think Local. Think Brazos!”

Candidate Interviews

On November 2, 2021, there are two seats up for election so be sure to watch the interviews with the other city council candidates before you vote!
